Terms + Conditions

At Kin Pottery Works, our classes are kept intentionally small to create a calm and supportive environment. Because of this, each booking reserves a limited place in the studio and our cancellation policy helps us manage sessions fairly.

One-off Classes & Workshops

  • Bookings are non-refundable.

  • If you cancel more than 7 days before your session, we’re happy to transfer your booking to another available date.

  • If you cancel within 7 days of the session, we’re unable to offer a transfer or refund.

  • If you cannot attend, you’re welcome to send someone else in your place — just let us know their name in advance.

Courses (Multi-week)

  • Course bookings are non-refundable.

  • If you need to cancel more than 14 days before the course start date, we can transfer you to a future course (subject to availability).

  • Cancellations within 14 days of the start date cannot be transferred or refunded.

  • Missed sessions during a course cannot be refunded, but if you let us know in advance, we will do our best to move you to a different date.

Delegate Substitutions

A substitute delegate may be named at any time before the course at no additional cost, but a substitute cannot attend halfway through a course. Once a course has commenced the same student needs to attend the sessions.

Studio Membership Sessions

  • Members are responsible for managing their own bookings.

  • Sessions cancelled within 24 hours may be counted as used.

  • Membership fees are non-refundable.

Course content

We reserve the right to change the timing, date or instructor of the course in order to provide a high quality service or where it is necessary for reasons beyond our control.

Kin Pottery Works reserves the right to cancel a course up to and including the date of the course if insufficient bookings have been received and will strive to give as much notice of this as possible.

Individuals booked onto a cancelled course will be given the option of a full refund or of rescheduling to a future course date if available. Kin Pottery Works will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from amendments to the course or cancellations.

If We Need to Cancel

In the unlikely event that Kin Pottery Works needs to cancel or reschedule a session, you will be offered:

  • A transfer to an alternative date, or

  • A full refund.

Late Arrivals & No-Shows

If you arrive late, we may not be able to repeat demonstrations or extend your session time. No-shows are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are non-refundable and valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Standard cancellation terms apply to bookings made using a voucher.

Our Approach

We understand that plans can change and will always try to be helpful where possible. If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as you can.

Health and Safety

Kin Pottery Works takes a diligent approach to health and safety for the sake of all staff and users. Students are agreeing to abide by the guidelines of our Health & Safety instructed by tutors. Repeated failure to do so will result in immediate termination of course without refund.

Technical issues and breakages

Experienced and trained staff only will handle and fire your ceramic work. However, by the nature of ceramics there is always a risk of technical failure for which we cannot be held responsible.

Prolific Makers

Ceramics is an expensive process and we try hard to keep the costs down. We price the classes based on an estimated output. We do not like to cap peoples creativity, but we have very limited shelf and kiln space, so for certain classes this is necessary.

You will be asked to select your preferred pieces for firing, glazing etc if you exceed the number of items specified by your tutor or described in each classes information page on our website there is an option to pay for extra pots in addition to the course fees. All other items will be recycled by the studio.

Collection of Works

You will be emailed when your pieces are ready for collection, usually this is within four weeks after the last date of your course or class, but this can take longer depending on our kiln firing scheduling.

We recommend you collect your finished work as soon as possible once you have received the pickup instructions via email to help keep our storage area clear, therefore avoiding damage.

If finished ceramic work is not collected within 1 month of the pick up email being sent out, we will sadly have to dispose of it due to space issues. This is detailed in the pick up email. Alternatively you can organise for your pots to be sent to you at an additional cost.

Data Protection

Any personal information you give to us will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will use the information to process your booking, to provide the course and to inform you about similar courses which we provide, unless you tell us that you do not want to receive this information. Any personal data you provide may be held on computer files.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be settled by the English courts.
